Volunteer

Planning for the 14th year of The Underground Music Showcase is well underway. The UMS is one of the Rocky Mountain region’s biggest and best independent music festivals and the premier showcase for Denver’s incredible local music scene. We’ve already had a record-breaking early on-sale and have announced a few of the amazing and varied artists who will be appearing at this year’s UMS.

You can be a part of the most exciting, music-filled weekend of the year by becoming a UMS volunteer! Work one or two shifts (about 4-5 hours each) and enjoy the rest of the festival for FREE. Or apply to be one of the specially selected full-time volunteers who are the true insiders of the festival and get access to our special, invitation-only Late Night Lounge.

Here’s how you get signed up:

Fill out this application. Provide some basic contact information, let us know when you’re available during UMS, which runs from Thursday, July 24 through Sunday, July 27, and tell us what areas of the festival you’d like to work. To learn more about the wide range of volunteer positions,  take a closer look here.

There’s a special section of the application where you can volunteer for pre-festival positions including  the UMS Street Teams that promote the festival at shows and events, distribute posters and generally let the world know about this four days of awesomeness. Street teamers get special invitations to UMS promotional events leading up to the festival, so sign up early, get in on some very cool events that won’t be accessible to the public and earn your wristband before The UMS even starts.

You can also apply to be a full-time volunteer — one of those special people who love being in the middle of the action and are willing to work the entire four days of the festival. If you’re selected for one of these slots you’ll become part of the core UMS team and also get access to our famed Late Night Lounge.

Once you’re registered…

If you’ve signed up for pre-festival or full-time positions, you’ll hear from us very soon. If you indicated a desire to do one or two shifts, we’ll get in touch with you with details about proposed assignments and a volunteer orientation meeting, probably around the middle of June.
