Hey, UMS’ers. Ready for the best music weekend of the year?! Sweet – so are we! And we have some news for you — news that will help you plan the best schedule for The UMS, which starts TOMORROW!
Wanna know who a couple of our secret special guests are? Well damn, all you had to do is ask. Click through, brothers and sisters, and we’ll share two of 2010’s secret guests with you!
Saturday night at 3 Kings is going to be bananas, as per usual. (If you want to see any of those shows, plan on getting there early. There will be a line outside the door.) Just who is playing after Murder Ranks and before our very special Machine Gun Blues reunion show? Well, lemme tell you.
It’s a little band they like to call Murder Pinchers — a.k.a. it’s Murder Ranks (complete with King Scratchie of the Warlock Pinchers) with K.C. K-Sum (a.k.a. Andrew Novick), also of the Warlock Pinchers, and they’ll play some Warlock Pinchers songs to get people hyped-up for the full-on reunion shows in August at the Gothic. The Warlock Pinchers were one of the most infamous Denver bands of the last few decades, and we promise you you’ll hear some familiar jams.
Playing Sunday night at the CarToys Stage is another great surprise. It was announced in the Sunday Denver Post package on The UMS (and The Post’s Underground Music Poll), and we’re happy to share the goods with you here at theums.com!
Drumroll, please … playing the CarToys Stage on Sunday night at 7:30, between Rob Drabkin and the Autumn Film, is Denver’s very own Nathaniel Rateliff. Rateliff is one of the most recent signings to the world-famous Rounder Records, and we’re all proud of he and his band’s accomplishments.
There you go! There are still one or two special guests left to announce. Keep your eyes here and on our Twitter, @TheUMS. And get your rest tonight — you’re going to need it!
