Singer-songwriter Donny D Rose has been performing in Denver since 2006. While opening for bands, playing at coffee shops, and powering through his share of open mic nights, he looked for opportunities to extend his vision to a band. It wasn't until Rose started production on his first EP that he would find a musical match in Coupe Michael. They formed My Shadows Existence and released a self-titled EP in 2009. Over the next 2 years, Rose and Coupe tried out several other band members, but by June 2011 the Americana duo was still just a duo. While continuing to look for the right mix of musicians, the two performed as members of the Alan Andrews, Jr. (The Photo Atlas) acoustic side project Serious Moonlight.
With the addition of a steady rhythm section and a cellist in 2011, Attic Attack was born. The group's sound includes an electric mandolin, lap steel slide guitar, and Rose's impassioned vocals delivering thoughtful lyrics. As the group moves forward, they hope to incorporate more unique, forgotten instruments into their sound - which is the first of the double meaning behind the name Attic Attack. The second meaning is a reference to the mind being under constant attack by the outside world. Expanding on the songwriting of Rose, Attic Attack strives to create Indie-Americana music that will encourage thought, self-awareness and further a love for music.
