Hailing from a small town on the plains east of Denver, and describing themselves as purveyors of “Twang Rock”, 4H Royalty draw from an erudite expanse of influences – classic country, blues, jazz, bar-band rock, post-punk, and outsider music – to create a unique, idiosyncratic, yet accessible sound that – after a few close listens to their albums COLOSSALALIA (2010), Where UFOs Go to Die (2012), and Liars & Outliers (July 2013) – distinguishes them from the majority of Alt.Country-, and Americana-genre artists to whom they're often compared.

Founded in 2009 by frontman/songwriter Zach Boddicker (fmr. Drag the River, Railbenders), 4HR built their reputation for high-energy, rambunctious, virtuosic live sets by playing everything from urban hipster bars, to small town taverns, and numerous festivals across the state.

"Unabashedly proud of their rural/western roots...a really effective mix of the contemporary and the classic, the urban and the rural. Not everyone who lives in a “flyover” state is a reactionary hick; these guys upend any number of negative stereotypes someone might have about the types of people who live here. I love bands that can do that, as well as walk that line between genres as well as they do."
