Remma

A chance hearing of a demo of Remma’s “Worry Young” in 2004 was enough to convince music legend, Morrissey (The Smiths), that this Irish Band had something special. Morrissey in turn gave a copy of the demo to his producer, Jerry Finn, who also praised the indie band’s mature and windswept sound.

Morrissey included the demo in a compilation CD of his “all time favourite bands”, Songs to Save Your Life, for NME Magazine alongside The Killers, The Libertines, Pony Club and Franz Ferdinand. Morrissey then signed REMMA to his “ATTACK” Label, which saw the worldwide release of their now critically acclaimed debut EP “Worry Young.” This was followed by guest spots on his “You Are the Quarry” European Tour with shows in London’s Earls Court Arena and Dublin’s Point Depot.

Remma’s music has been hailed as “Passionate and Windswept”- The Guardian, “A Stormer”-NME and “Epic, Melodic Rock”- HMV.

The band have been compared to early Stone Roses, a guitarier Coldplay, The Strokes, and according to The Guardian, “not unlike Mancunian greats The Smiths.”
