Recess

RECESS was developed, in part, to open up the art scene in Denver by crossing mediums and giving new perspective to music and visual art. All three members are also in local bands: Jen Gilleran drums for Gregory Alan Isakov; Jack Leahy plays guitar in ‘Blue Light’ and ‘The Paper Stars’; James Han plays keys with ‘Bela Karoli’ and ‘The Wheel’. Past performances in Denver include: Lion’s Lair accompanying film and photos of Brigid Macauliffe; twice at the Denver Art Museum; the Oriental Theater in Denver accompanying ‘The Actress’ – a film by Brooklyn director Ilya Chaiken. In Boulder: The Bside Lounge and Urban Pearl Salon’s fashion show. RECESS welcomes submissions for our consideration of films, photos, or other visual art to accompany in performance or to score.
