Songwriter/Singer Ben Minnotte has been lurking in the shadows of the Denver music scene for a few years now. At any given time, Ben can be seen acting as a crew member for a staging company, occasionally working in the recording studio and until recently, partaking in the University of Colorado at Denver Music Industry Studies program (he was forced out in 2008 due to graduation). However, he’s rarely stepped forward to share his own work.
Of those rare occasions when he has stepped into the limelight, Ben has most famously achieved the great honor of being the first artist to have an album sell in the negative figures (Ben’s 2006 album “Greetings from Elderbush Gulch” currently stands at sales of -16). Of this distinction, Ben was quoted as saying “Isn’t that what tends to make a cult figure—or is it a fool?”
Determined to “Not f—k it up yet again”, Ben is taking another shot at recording an album. This upcoming LP (entitled “Minn-Knot”) is expected to be released in the Fall of 2009.
